SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Product Manager (SPM) defines the strategy, roadmap, and feature set for our Services Procurement and Independent Contractor product offerings. The SPM oversees the execution and overall performance of the specific product offering with their PM peers. Within the AgileOne VMS product offering, the SPM is the responsible resource at the intersection of business, user experience (UX), and technology. They are responsible for the entire product lifecycle—from conception to launch—by gathering user requirements, defining vision, and collaborating with engineering, marketing, and sales teams to deliver a high-value product that meets business goals.
The SPM role maintains responsibility for aligning the product with organizational goals, client enhancement requests, industry alignment, and navigating high-level decisions with collaboration within the team.
The ideal candidate is both a strategic and critical thinker with strong business experience coming from a consulting or software enablement background. The candidate should also maintain deep industry and domain experience, capable of understanding complex business requirements as well as a solid understanding of the Product Development and Software Development lifecycle.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
- Product Strategy and Vision
- Develop long-term product vision of a defined product offering, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and market needs.
- Own the product roadmap, making strategic decisions and adjustments based on company objectives.
- Drive market and competitive analysis to shape high-level strategy.
- Promote feature-level vision aligned to the broader product strategy set by PM leadership.
- Product Design, Delivery, & Execution
- Define high-level product requirements and oversee the entire product development lifecycle.
- Own the prioritization of product features, balancing short-term goals with long-term strategy.
- Lead collaboration with VP/SVP led teams (engineering, client services, sales, marketing, etc.) for product delivery.
- Manage the design of defined product offering (e.g. Services Procurement/ICC) features post-requirements gathering by partnering with the UX team in design planning and refinement.
- Prioritize tasks within the team, ensuring features are developed according to customer feedback.
- Validate that releases meet usability, compliance, consistency, and performance standards and validate release readiness.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure timely and effective feature delivery.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Regularly update and communicate with Senior PM leadership on product progress and performance.
- Engage with external stakeholders as-warranted (customers, partners) to ensure product aligns with market needs.
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings, ensuring product requirements are met coming from VoC (voice-of-the-customer), implementation, client services, sales, and other internal teams.
- Act as the VoC (voice of the customer) to vet requests and inform broader product decisions.
- Customer Focus
- Lead customer engagement initiatives to shape product strategy, ensuring high-impact features are delivered.
- Ensure the product's user experience is aligned with customer expectations and market demands.
- Product Lifecycle Management
- Oversee the entire product lifecycle, including product sunsetting (future) and long-term roadmap planning.
- Manage the day-to-day aspects of Jira epics; focus on feature releases aligned with team and enhancements.
- Market & Business Alignment
- Ensure product is aligned with broader business goals and company strategy, influencing the company's overall direction.
- Leadership & Mentorship
- Lead and inspire the product team, fostering innovation and collaboration.
- Mentor and guide junior product managers or teams, providing leadership on best practices and career development.
- Risk Management & Problem Solving
- Proactively identify and mitigate high-level risks; make critical decisions on product direction.
- Handle complex problems across teams and influence difficult product trade-offs.
- Metrics & Analytics
- Analyze key product metrics and make high-level decisions to steer product direction.
- Gather VMS specific feedback from the application, monitor product metrics, track and analyze feature performance (Jira epics); use data to inform iterations and further drive enhancements.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
- Join Steering Committee meetings monthly
- E.g. – attend daily stand-up meetings with offshore development team
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog, deciding which features to build to maximize ROI.
- Functional bridge between UI/UX Design and Development
- Translate design documents into mockups as needed for delivery to UX team.
- Ensure design feasibility by collaborating with both UX designers and frontend/backend developers.
- Define or assist with user stories as needed.
- Component and Design System Implementation:
- Advocate for consistent design patterns and accessibility standards.
- Prototyping and Validation:
- Work closely with designers to iterate based on user feedback and usability testing
- Functional & Technical Feasibility Reviews:
- Participate in design reviews and provide input on the overall feasibility of design concepts.
- Suggest design adjustments when needed to align with functional constraints.
- Performance and Accessibility:
- Confirm that UI/UX components meet performance and accessibility standards.
- Cross-Functional Communication:
- Act as a liaison during handoffs, helping document interactions and edge cases.
- Communicate effectively across design, development, and product teams.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The primary duties of this position are performance and execution of business operational requirements of the Company. This position’s primary duties include the exercise of discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance while designing and developing a next generation VMS application.

- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline; or equivalent professional experience. Master’s degree (or equivalent) not required, but beneficial.
- Strong, proven experience of software (Saas specifically) experience, with an emphasis on VMS, ERP, or CRM applications being beneficial.
- Strong, proven experience of industry related experience in product management, software implementation, or a client services or customer success related role.
- Familiarity with design tools (Figma, Sketch, or similar tools).

LANGUAGE/COMMUNICATION SKILLS REQUIRED (written & verbal):
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to present information effectively and to respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
COMPUTER/SYSTEM SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Working knowledge of computers including Windows environments, email, and the internet. Proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, OneNote, and Visio. Ability to quickly learn AgileOne proprietary technology.Prior use of Jira, Figma, Smartsheets, and Lucid are beneficial.
