OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:

A manager or a senior-level individual to oversee the operations as they are established. This person will be responsible for managing the entire Philippine team, with all staff reporting directly to them, while maintaining a dotted-line reporting relationship to their respective managers in the U.S.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage a 30-person finance-related team in the Philippines.
  • Oversee various back-office functions, including finance, treasury, accounting, reporting, risk management, HR, payroll, and marketing.
  • Ensure efficient operations, including setting up workflows and reporting mechanisms.
  • Manage the entire finance Philippine team with direct reporting responsibilities.
  • Maintain a dotted-line reporting relationship to U.S.-based managers.
  • Provide leadership in a BPO or shared services environment, including staff motivation and cross-cultural management.
  • Act as a liaison between the Philippines team and U.S. managers.
  • Regularly update on performance, risks, and challenges through effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ensure adherence to financial and risk management principles in offshoring functions.
  • Comply with local labor laws and employment regulations in the Philippines.
  • Train and develop staff in finance-related tasks, focusing on technology-driven efficiency
  • Act as a business partner, championing the adoption of shared services.
  • Ensure internal clients are well-served, focusing on scalable finance service organization development.

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports to ActOne CFO and dotted line to PH country manager. ActOne CFO may designate another individual in the US as report to person pending maturity of the structure.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS (each function listed, indicates % of time):

  • Ad-hoc projects and other assigned task (3%)
  • Attend regular departmental meetings (2%)

QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 3 - 5 years related experience.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED/ #OF STAFF:
From 3-30 staff members.

LANGUAGE/COMMUNICATION SKILLS (written & verbal):
Active listener. Detailed e-mails and excellent follow up.

COMPUTER/SYSTEM SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Advance level MS Excel still and beginner MS Access skill. Able to learn new software easily.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to multi-task, independent (minimal supervision required) and a team player. Coordinate activities and projects between US and PH employees.
